Having a bad day?

10 tips to turn your bad day around.

We all experience one of those days. Soon after waking up in the morning, we already know that it isn’t going to be our day. And more than often, we resist it, don’t accept it for what it is and this way we add more to it, we continue on having a bad day.

Resistance put us into the negative frame of mind, and we act according to our perspective.

We focus on what is wrong, forgetting all the good things in our life. One thought leads to another, and we find ourselves conducting more stress into an already stressful day.

Although we tend to think that we act according to how we feel, studies show now that we feel because the way we act.

Having a bad day doesn’t have to be bad after all, it is what we do about it that makes the difference.

What kind of thoughts am I entertaining? Is the question to ask your self when you don't feel your best.

Do you continue on having the rest of your day bad, or you choose to turn it around and rise your frequencies and your energy level?

Here are 10 tips that you could explore to turn yor bad day into the good one, or at least not the worse one.

  1. Accept your feelings would be the first step in turning the bad day around. When you accept your mood, you don’t have anything to fight against. Fighting against something only strengthens that which you are against for.
  2. Remember that it could be worse It seems hard to remember this when we are already having a bad day, but it is true it could be worse. If we are able to see it from this perspective, we shift from the frustration into the appreciation frame of mind.
  3. Shift your thoughts to the better feeling ones, and initiate actions that will make you feel good This one is tough one, but once you are able to do this you will rise your vibrations and energy level which will make you feel like a whole new person. Look for thoughts/ reasons that feel good, whatever that might be for you. imagine yourself in situations that feel good to you, play with kids, watch comedy movies, do something good for others, go swimming or take a looooong bath, have some comforting food (in moderation though :), go for a massage, or simply lay down and do nothing-whatever makes you happy.
  4. Gratitude take a deep breath and try to notice what is good about this moment, or write down 10 things you are grateful for-even if it is just one.
  5. Take a day off/ go for a walk Take a day off from work if possible, if not take a walk during the brake. There is nothing like fresh air when we don't feel our best. It doesn’t need to be the long one, around the block will do the work.
  6. Connect with nature if only sitting in the park and observing birds, flowers, kids playing etc. will give you sense of belonging and connectedness to the universe/life that will uplift you automatically.
  7. Talking to someone can be very helpful, but you need to keep in mind that not everyone is capable of lifting you up, some people make you feel even worse. You need someone who is sympathetic listener and is solution rather than problem oriented.
  8. Exercise sweating of the stress do wonders when I need to boost my mood. It doesn't have to be a hour and half of exhausting exercise. Running on the treadmill for 20 min. with your MP3 and your favourite music will be enough to overflow you with endorphins and raise your feeling good frequencies.
  9. Meditation/Yoga are amazing stress relievers. These relax both-the mind and the body. Connect you with your spirit-your higher self.
  10. Remember that this will pass too you had it before, you know that in the morning everything will look better.

If you tend to experience bad days often, and feel like helpless over it, this could be a sign of something more serious, some health condition issue or depression for example. In this case I urge you to talk someone and ask for help.

Refer to my other hubs for learning more about meditation:

If you are familiar with Law of Attraction teachings and follow its principles, you definitely want to initiate situations that feel good. I recomend reading my other hubs...the first one is my personal story about how the movie 'The Secret' turned around my life.

Unfortunately we all have bad days but you are right in saying that this can be turned around. I will often put in my DVD "The Secret" and I feel so much better after watching it. My whole attitude is changed and I end up having a great day. I's just a matter of being grateful and thinking positive. Well written Ruzica.

Thank you all! Glad you found it helpful.

Yes Sarah, it could always be worse, and most of the time by not realising this we make our situation/day worse than it really is.

It's interesting how we need to make our thoughts go into a positive direction. I deal with depression and often I have to accept my bad days, however, your Hub has some very good suggestions that I have been implementing into my daily life. I've learned to enjoy the good things in life inspite the of bad days that comes along.
